Fan Mode, Ranks, and Leaderboards

Fan Mode (/fan-mode) is AutoDM's built-in community gamification system. It turns passive followers into active community champions by awarding points for comments, story replies, DMs, and tracked link clicks, while unlocking custom fan tiers and rewards.

1. Overview and Key Metrics​

On the Fan Mode Overview page (/fan-mode), you can monitor real-time community engagement metrics:

  • Total Fans: Total unique followers who have earned points on your channel.
  • Active Today: Number of community members who interacted within the last 24 hours.
  • Points Awarded: Lifetime points earned across your entire community.
  • Fan Mode Status: Master toggle to pause or activate point accrual across your account.

2. Setting Interaction Point Rules​

Navigate to Rules & Streaks (/fan-mode/rules) to define how your followers earn points:

Point Values by Interaction Type​

  • Comments (default: 5 pts): Awarded whenever a follower comments on your posts or reels.
  • Direct Messages (default: 3 pts): Awarded when a follower sends you an incoming direct message.
  • Story Replies (default: 10 pts): Awarded when a user replies to an active Instagram Story.
  • Tracked Link Clicks (default: 2 pts): Awarded when a follower clicks one of your tracked /l/:slug short links.

Daily Points Cap​

To prevent automated spam or excessive commenting from artificially inflating scores, you can set a Daily Points Cap (e.g., 50 points per day per user). Any points earned beyond the daily cap within a 24-hour period are ignored until the cap resets. Leave blank for unlimited earning.

3. Fan Streaks and Loyalty Bonuses​

Encourage daily engagement habits by rewarding consecutive interactions:

  • Streak Threshold (Days) (default: 3 days): The number of consecutive days a follower must interact with your content to qualify for a streak.
  • Streak Bonus Points (default: 25 pts): A one-time lump-sum bonus awarded to the fan once the streak milestone is achieved.
  • Followers with active streaks display a prominent Fire icon and streak duration (e.g., 3d, 7d, 14d) on the leaderboard.

4. Custom Fan Tiers and Badges​

Navigate to Tiers & Rewards (/fan-mode/tiers) to configure your community ranking hierarchy:

Adding or Editing a Tier​

Click Add Tier to open the tier creator modal:

  1. Tier Name: Give the rank a memorable title (e.g., Starter, Bronze, Silver, Gold, VIP, Superfan).
  2. Points Required: The minimum cumulative points a fan must earn to achieve this rank.
  3. Display Rank: The numerical order of the tier (e.g., Rank 1, Rank 2, Rank 3).
  4. Tier Badge Color: Select from designer preset colors:
    • Terracotta (#CC5A36)
    • Bronze (#96715B)
    • Silver (#8A929A)
    • Gold (#D97706)
    • Indigo (#4F46E5)
    • Emerald (#059669)
    • Rose (#E11D48)
  5. Tier Perks & Description: Detail the perks of this rank (e.g., "Priority reply in DMs, 10% store discount, access to close friends stories").

5. Milestone Rewards (Unlocks)​

Milestone rewards are tangible incentives automatically delivered to fans when they reach specific lifetime point thresholds:

Creating a Milestone Reward​

Click Add Reward on the Tiers & Rewards page:

  1. Reward Title: The name of the incentive (e.g., "15% Store Discount", "Exclusive Video Link", "Free Consultation Call").
  2. Points Required: Threshold required to unlock (e.g., 250 pts, 500 pts, 1000 pts).
  3. Reward Type:
    • Promo Code (CODE): Delivers an ecommerce coupon code (e.g., VIP20OFF).
    • Exclusive Link (LINK): Delivers a private download URL, unlisted video, or resource link.
    • Custom Reward (CUSTOM): Custom instructions or experiential perks.
  4. Reward Value: The coupon code string, URL, or perk description.
  5. Delivery DM Template: The message automatically dispatched to the fan's DM upon unlocking:
    • Example: "Congratulations! You unlocked: {{reward_name}}. Access your reward: {{reward_value}}"
  6. Reward Status: Toggle active or paused at any time. The card tracks total claims automatically.

6. Automated Direct Message Notifications​

AutoDM can notify fans automatically as they progress through your community loyalty program:

  • Points Earned Notification: Sends a DM each time a user earns points (disabled by default to prevent inbox clutter).
  • Tier Upgrade Celebration DM (enabled by default): Dispatches an automated congratulatory message when a user advances to a higher fan tier.
  • Milestone Reward Unlocked DM (enabled by default): Automatically delivers the unlock code or link when the point milestone is reached.

Dynamic Template Variables​

You can use the following variables in notification messages:

  • {{points}}: Points earned in the latest interaction.
  • {{total_points}}: Current lifetime point balance.
  • {{tier_name}}: Name of the newly unlocked tier.
  • {{reward_name}}: Title of the milestone reward.
  • {{reward_value}}: The reward promo code or link.

7. Top Fans Leaderboard and Social Export​

The Top Fans Leaderboard ranks your most engaged community members:

  • Rank Medals: Visual badges for 1st Place (Gold Medal), 2nd Place (Silver Medal), and 3rd Place (Bronze Medal).
  • Profile Info: Displays profile initials, username handle, and ID.
  • Streak Tracker: Highlights active consecutive interaction streaks.
  • Search: Search specific followers by username.
  • Fan Details: Click Details on any row to inspect their interaction logs.

Exporting Leaderboard Graphics for Social Media​

Click Export Graphic on the leaderboard page to open the Leaderboard Image Modal:

  • Generates a branded, high-resolution story or post graphic showcasing your Top 3 and Top 10 fans.
  • Share directly to your Instagram Story or Feed to publicly celebrate your top contributors, driving community engagement and competition.
